This isn’t just war set to ravage the land, but a slaughter – the world of man cannot hope to survive. Unaware of the shadow that looms in the east, the six kingdoms of man are fractured, unallied, and clawing at each other’s gates for more power. They are faster, stronger and connected to the magical realm in a way that man could never grasp. A thousand years is a long time for an immortal race to see the truth of things, a truth that has remained unsaid for a millennium – elves are superior. Mankind has lorded over the land of Illian for a thousand years, building on the ruins left by the elves, as if it were their birthright. Amid plots and counterplots, tragedy and betrayal, victory and terror, the fate of the Starks, their allies, and their enemies hangs perilously in the balance, as each endeavors to win that deadliest of conflicts: the game of thrones. Here an enigmatic band of warriors bear swords of no human metal a tribe of fierce wildlings carry men off into madness a cruel young dragon prince barters his sister to win back his throne and a determined woman undertakes the most treacherous of journeys. The last book on my February TBR together with A Little Knowledge by Emma Newman. Not sure if I will manage to finish Fool’s Errand by the end of this coming week, but if I do I will probably start A Time of Dread by John Gwynne. It’s very sweet and cute, and I like the female MC, which is very rare. I also started I Bet You by Ilsa Madden-Mills, a book that I read before but I consider my comfort romance story. It was quite slow at the beginning, talking about all that had happened since the end of the Farseer Trilogy. I am certainly going to continue with the series, though it’s not a priority right now. This was a fun read, and even though I heard many people did not enjoy this book, I did. I finished reading Storm Front on Saturday. I didn’t read a lot, but I am slowly getting better. A busy week, with an unexpected long weekend.
